  • How long has Astor been running?
    Astor International School was opened to the first students in August of 2019. We are currently in our 5th academic year.
  • What nationalities are the staff and students?
    We are a multicultural school, with staff and students from all nationalities and cultural backgrounds. We have over 30 nationalities among our students. We do not have any dominant nationality. Every culture is celebrated at Astor.
  • What age can students start at Astor?
    We take students from 5 years old. Our academic year runs from mid August to mid June. Year 1 (Pre - Primary) (will turn 6 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 2 (Primary 1) (will turn 7 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 3 (Primary 2) (will turn 8 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 4 (Primary 3) (will turn 9 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 5 (Primary 4) (will turn 10 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 6 (Primary 5) (will turn 11 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year) Year 7 (Primary 6) (will turn 12 years of age between August 1 and June 30 of that academic year)
  • What is the fee structure?
    Flexi fees $14,900 a year Make your own timetable! You can choose ECAs on certain days, or none at all (every term ECAs are paid separately). Fixed fees $18,500 a year Stay until 3pm every day! ECAs five days a week are included in the fee. You can choose which ECAs to attend. Read more about Fees here.
  • What curriculum does the school follow?
    Astor is proud to offer Curriculum based on world renowned Singapore Mathematics, English and International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Our curriculum is designed to be enquiry based, engaging and relevant to international students. Read more about our curriculum here.
  • What are your class sizes?
    Pre Primary (Year 1) - 20 students Primary 1 (Year 2) to Primary 6 (Year 7) – 20 students Our class sizes are limited to 20 students to benefit from individual attention and to allow the teacher to adjust curriculum according to student's unique needs and learning style.
  • What are the school times and term dates?
    Daily Schedule: 8:30 – 8:45 Arrival to school 8:30 – 8:50 Morning Fitness 8:50 – 9:10 Welcome 9:15 – 10:15 Literacy / Math / IPC 10:15 – 10:45 Morning Snack and Outdoor Play 10:45 – 1 Literacy / Math / IPC 13:00 – 1:30 Lunch *students can be picked up at 13:00-13:30pm if they are not doing ECAs 13:30 – 14:00 Play time 14:00 – 15:00 ECA *we reserve the right to change times slightly.
  • When does your school year start?

  • What support does Astor offer for student whose English is a Second Language (ESL) or Students with Specific Needs (SSN)?
    Astor provides Student Support for ESL students and students with specific needs. The support is based on assessments and discussed with parents when necessary.
  • Does my child need to wear a school uniform?
    Students are required to wear a white Astor polo shirt, at $25 per shirt, which can be combined with comfortable shorts, skirt, leggings, or trousers. We encourage all students to wear closed shoes (no flip flops).
  • Does Astor provide Student visa for my child?
    No, Astor is not able to facilitate student visa/pass at this time.
  • Does the school accept local students?
    Yes, Astor can take students who have an exemption from MOE. To get exemption, parents must apply to MOE.
  • Does the school provide transportation and what are the cost?
    Yes, this service is provided by an external transportation company with Astor acting in a liaison role for necessary arrangements with the school bus provider on behalf of the parents. For more information about the bus and fee structure, please click here.
  • Does the school provide snacks and lunch?
    Due to the tight restrictions, we are not able to offer snacks and lunches at the moment. This will be an option in the future. Students are bringing their own snacks and lunch.
  • Do you have an outdoor space?
    Yes. All our students spend minimum 30 minutes a day outdoor. Physical activity and outdoor play improve student concentration and have endless benefits for children's health. Here you can take a look at our playground:
