Umaira Farouk

Ms Umaira holds a Masters in Guidance and Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychological Arts from James Cook University, Singapore. During her extensive career in the education sector, she has worked as a research assistant, a student care teacher, a counsellor-in-training and an administrative assistant. Ms Umaira focuses on creating in her classrooms a positive, inclusive environment that fosters resilience and personal growth in children. At Astor, Ms Umaira focuses on supporting our full-time teaching staff, in promoting curriculum development and in providing empathic and calm guidance to our students. Her personal interests include nature, arts and crafts and yoga/Pilates.
